Pottery painting is a relaxing and therapeutic activity for all ages and abilities. Carol has now been the owner of Bluebells pottery for 9 years, her journey began taking classes like the ones she now offers. She stated “it began as a hobby over 25 years ago when I attended classes in my friends studio, I enjoyed painting and creating so much I made it into a business.”
The pottery we use is made from a white earthenware clay that is fired to a low temperature called bisque. Firing it at a low temperature means that the pottery stays porous, so it will absorb the paints fully. Our glazes are washable and non toxic, so it’s safe for little hands.
Once the pottery has been painted it needs to be fired and will be ready for collection in a week or so, though this may change during peak times.
Bluebells pottery offers studio painting sessions, featuring events such as our regular Pizza and prosecco nights, mulled wine and mince pie evenings, afternoon tea, Halloween festivities and our yearly Harry Potter night. As well as our day to day studio sessions we also offer kits to take home, to enjoy for those rainy days. Not to mention our pre-painted pottery ready to buy, making a great gift for a loved one.
